On the cover of this magazine is a famous Pietro Annigoni´s self portrait.  His painting technique was very unique as he combined the use of egg and oil emulsions. The magazine´s price was only one dollar back then..that´s why I also decided to draw the folded one dollar bill stuck in the magazine. The size of the drawing is 9 x 12 inches, graphites and white chalk on toned paper.

En la portada de esta revista aparece un famoso autoretratos de Pietro Annigoni.  Su técnica de pintar era muy única, porque combinaba el uso de emulsiones de huevo y óleo.  El precio de la revista era sólo de un dólar en ese entonces..es por eso que decidí dibujar el billete de un dólar doblado y metido en la revista.  El tamaño de este dibujo es de 22 x 30 centímetros, grafitos y lápiz de pastel blanco sobre un papel de tono.

Sailing

I always enjoy painting paintings within paintings: the seascape picture on the wall, and the small ship inside the bottle.  The sea is trapped in the picture taped on the way and the small ship in the bottle..the perfect set up for this great illusion.  The size of the painting is 12 x 16 in., oil on linen canvas.

Siempre disfruto pintar cuadros sobre cuadros: la imagen del paisaje de mar en la pared y el barquito metido en la botella.  El mar está atrapado en una imagen pegada en la pared y el barquito en una botella..un tema perfecto para esta gran ilusión.  El tamaño de la pintura es 30 x 41 cms., óleo sobre lienzo de lino.
